Do You Reserve Your

Toyger

?

 

If you are interested in owning a Toyger the first thing to do is give us a call.

We will advise you on availability and discuss all of the options which suit you best, you may want to be an owner in the future, you may want an older cat or you might want more than one.

Be advised they are extremely addictive and can be described as the chips and chocolate of the cat world...

'You have one, you want another'

It's always best to give us a visit and see Toyger at first hand, because we feel this is the only way to really understand them.

They are very intelligent and extremely affectionate and loving. They are very active and often vocal.

At this pont it's probably important to explain that we do always put the new litters on the website, no real reason for this other than we are always quite busy.

So even if it seems that the website hasn't been updated for some time, we will still be beavering along with refining the breed. So for anything Toygery just give us a call.

As far as visiting our new kittens; we normally ensure that they are weaned before being handled by someone not from our home.

There are exceptions to this and Toygers are great mom's who let us handle their babies from when they are born. But the first few weeks of and kittens life is possibly the most critical and we are guilty of almost wrapping them in cotton wool.

Once they are weaned (around 5 weeks), the kittens can be visited.

A deposit secures your kitten, this will help us understand your commitment and reserve that particular kitten.

 

Throughout the next 8 weeks or so the kitten will live with us and have 2 sets of inoculations, which take place at approx when they are 8 and 12 weeks old.

 

Every kitten will be neutered before they leave us, which means that they little girls will have a small shaved area where the operation has taken place.

The operation for the boys is less invasive.

After the neutering the kitten will stay with us for approx 1 week and be ready to go their 'Forever Home' at the age of 13 weeks.

There cannot be any exceptions to this timeline or our neutering policy so please take this into consideration when you are planning to take your kitten home.

 

It is normal for the new owners to pick your kitten up from our home, but we do understand that some people may live some distance away from where we are based (Cannock, staffs).

So you may be interested to know we have delivered kittens to as far afield as Glasgow and London, and internationally as far as Switzerland. So if traveling circumstances are holding you back, give us a call.

 

As with most breeders, each kitten goes from our home with 4 weeks free insurance, we always advise that you take the opportunity to extend the insurance.

More than anything it's good to know that we are only at the end of the phone should you have any question at all about your Toyger.

It's important to understand that, as they are very young, they will still try to touch and taste everything, even things which may not be good for them; they will climb as high as they can and occasionally misjudge a leap or jump.

Be prepared that they will try to climb up you and sit on your shoulder; this may sound harmless but with extremely sharp little claws, be prepared or the odd scratch or two.

Your kitten is officially an adult in the cat world at the age of 8 months. This doesn't mean they suddenly become more sensible but just bigger.

If you treat you kitten and cat as part of the family then they should do just fine. A stern voice if they are naughty should normally be enough, but again if this is going to be your first Toyger, then talk to us, we are here to help.

Please please keep sending us photos as they grow up, and keep in touch. A gorgeous little 'Marbled pattern' Toyger kitten again 2 weeks old from the same litter as above.

The photo's above and below are of a 'marbled' Toyger; although not the conventional pattern (Stripes and Braids), they are still stunning and have the same temperament.

Their coat is silky and they normally great contrasting colours.

Some our Toyger people have taken one of these kittens to be a friend to their Toyger kitten
